The 36th annual 95.5 KLOS Blood Drive, one of the largest media-sponsored blood drives in the country, is gearing up to help overcome a summer shortage of the community blood supply. Once again, the American Red Cross and 95.5 KLOS are coming together to rock Southern California’s airwaves and donor locations with a four-day blood collection effort aimed at helping maintain the region’s blood supply for more than 160 hospitals.
Volunteer blood donors have helped make this annual summer event a great success since 1981. With the help of thousands of Southern California blood donors, the KLOS Blood Drive has collected more than 180,782 pints of blood over the last three decades for patients—including transplant recipients, accident victims and cancer patients—-needing blood and blood products.
The 36th annual 95.5 KLOS Blood Drive kicks off on Wednesday, July 19, and wraps up on Saturday, July 22. On July 19, at the Red Cross Pomona Donation Center, blood donors can enjoy food and refreshments from the Wahoo’s Fish Taco truck hosted by restaurant co-founder Wing Lam and ice cream courtesy of the Southern California Honda Dealers.
Rock lovers across the Southland are invited to donate at any of the 20 blood drive sites throughout San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, Orange, Los Angeles and San Diego counties.
95.5 KLOS fans won’t want to miss the opportunity to see Gary Moore broadcast live from the Red Cross Pomona Blood Donation Center on Wednesday, July 19, from 2-7 p.m., and at the Red Cross Woodland Hills Blood Donation Center on Thursday, July 20, from 2-7 p.m. Blood drive participants can hang with their favorite KLOS jocks – including Frosty, Heidi & Frank, Ken Anthony, Marci Wiser and Frankie DiVita – at various locations.

Concert vouchers are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.
Donors of all blood types are needed. Walk-ins will be accepted, but donors with appointments will receive priority. To make an appointment, download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) and use sponsor code KLOS.
This blood drive comes when the Red Cross is facing a critical blood shortage and is issuing an emergency call for donors of all types to give now so patients can continue to receive the lifesaving treatments they need. Blood products are being distributed to hospitals faster than donations are coming in, and more donations are needed now to replenish the blood supply.
The 2017 95.5 KLOS Blood Drive is made possible through support from the Association for the Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs (ALADS), Perricone Juices, Southern California Honda Dealers and Wahoo’s Fish Taco
